IN CONVERSATION WITH KIKI FEEL
French DJ/producer KIKI FEEL is launching her own label, Fifth Dimension, with the release of The Secret, an EP inspired by Rhonda Byrne’s Law of Attraction. Known for her futuristic hard-techno sound and striking cyber-visor look, KIKI continues to push creative boundaries. In this interview, she shares her vision, influences, and what’s next for her music.
What inspired you to start your own label, Fifth Dimension, and what vision do you have for it?
I was deeply inspired by my journey into the world of the law of attraction, frequencies, and vibrations. It resonated with me on such a profound level that I felt the need to create a space that truly reflected my own reality,a world of my own. Fifth Dimension is exactly that: a realm where I can fully express myself through my music and art, free from limitations. It’s more than just a label; it’s my personal dimension, a space where creativity and energy align.
Your new EP, The Secret, is deeply influenced by Rhonda Byrne's book. How has the Law of Attraction shaped your music and career?
Discovering the Law of Attraction was a transformative experience for me. It helped me overcome moments of insecurity and guided me toward a deeper understanding of myself. It taught me that we are limitless that we can achieve anything we set our minds to. This mindset has shaped both my music and my career, allowing me to create fearlessly and manifest the reality I desire. “The Secret” is a reflection of this journey, infused with the energy of possibility and self-belief.
Your music has a strong sci-fi and otherworldly aesthetic. What draws you to these themes, and how do you translate them into sound?
These themes feel deeply personal to me because they reflect how I see myself. I’ve always felt connected to a futuristic, otherworldly aesthetic, almost as if I exist in a reality beyond the present, one that is ultratechnological and cyberpunk in nature. Through my music, I aim to immerse the listener in this atmosphere, transporting them to a dimension where the boundaries of time and space dissolve. I use sound to create a sensory experience that feels like stepping into a high-tech, cybernetic world where innovation, mystery, and emotion collide.
You've mentioned your love for vintage synths and modular synthesis. How do these elements influence your production process?
A great passion of mine, especially when using modulars, is the part where Sequencers send signals not only of notes to oscillators but also to various parameters on ADSR, VCA, VCF, Effects, creating very hypnotic sound sequences. Whenever possible I like to carry this methodology that we can hear in Techno, to the lines of Arpeggiators / Sequences / Bassline that make my tracks, which also go very well with PSY sequences. What has always fascinated me about Modular Synthesis and what I try to bring back as a concept wherever possible in my records is the OPEN System: where I choose what and how in a chain of different components selected by me and not a closed system that can be a traditional Synth, whether hardware or VST. With this I do not want to belittle even Virtual Synths that I use in my productions such as Serum, Sylenth, Diva, Vital, Pigments, Reaktor and many others.
You started your musical journey playing guitar and piano. How has your classical background influenced your approach to electronic music?
Having a classical background has been essential to my approach to electronic music. Studying piano and guitar gave me a strong foundation in melody and composition, which I now blend with futuristic sound design. I love merging the elegance and depth of classical music with the innovation of electronic production, creating a contrast that feels both timeless and forward-thinking.
Your track Out of the Matrix' carries a bold message of independence. What does that track mean to you personally?
This track is extremely important to me because it represents breaking free from the constraints of society. Out of the Matrix is about independence, about stepping outside the rigid structures and expectations that often limit us. It embodies a sense of liberation and the feeling of not fully belonging to a world that can sometimes be restrictive in its mindset. For me it’s a statement of empowerment, an invitation to think differently, to challenge norms and to create our own reality beyond imposed limitations.
Fashion has been a part of your journey as well. How does your personal style connect with your music and performances?
Fashion plays a fundamental role in this project because Kiki Feel is not just about music, it’s a complete artistic vision that embodies a cyberpunk and futuristic aesthetic. My personal style is an extension of my sound, helping to create an immersive experience that transports the audience into my world. I pay close attention to every detail, ensuring that the visual aspect of my performances aligns perfectly with the music. For me, it’s not just about playing a set, but about delivering a full-scale show where sound, style, and energy come together to create something truly unique.
You've played at some major festivals and clubs. What's been the most memorable gig of your career so far, and why?
I’m incredibly grateful for all the experiences I’ve had and for everyone who’s welcomed me along the way. However, the most exciting and memorable gig for me was in Los Angeles for Lick n Dip. It was my first solo trip to the USA, and I was naturally thrilled because it was a completely new adventure. I had an amazing time, and the experience was truly special. I handled everything on my own, and I’m really proud of how it all went.
With your label aiming to blend music, visuals, and storytelling, do you have any plans for immersive live shows or multimedia projects?
We have some huge future projects planned for the live shows of the label. While I can’t reveal too much just yet, I can say that it will be a truly immersive experience, transporting the audience to another dimension.
What advice would you give to up-and-coming producers looking to establish their own unique sound and brand in the industry?
My advice to up-and-coming producers would be to never give up and to focus on discovering their true identity. It’s important to dig deep into your own personality and experiences to find the unique elements that will shape your sound. Building a sound and brand is a journey, and it takes time and persistence. Just like I’m doing, keep exploring and evolving, because the process of finding yourself is what will set you apart in the industry. Stay true to who you are, and everything will fall into place.
