CHANEL INTRODUCES THE J12 BLEU AT WATCHES & WONDERS 2025

To mark 25 years of the J12, Chanel introduces the J12 BLEU — the first time the watch appears in matte blue ceramic. The new hue, developed over five years by Chanel’s Watchmaking Creation Studio, is exclusive to this collection and reflects the brand’s technical precision and material innovation.

The J12 BLEU builds on a legacy that began with the original black ceramic model in 2000 and continued with the white edition in 2003. This new iteration expands the palette, while staying true to the J12’s original design codes: minimal, high-functioning, and distinctively Chanel.

The ceramic is deep, matte, and nearly black in certain light — a blue designed to shift subtly depending on its surroundings. Scratch-resistant and highly durable, the material is the result of extensive R&D and manufacturing control.

“The final choice of this particular blue was like an epiphany,” says Arnaud Chastaingt, Director of the Chanel Watchmaking Creation Studio. “I wanted a blue that has a rigorous elegance — a blue that’s nearly black, or a black that’s nearly blue.”

The J12 BLEU collection includes nine new limited-edition models, some of which are set with blue sapphires. Each model reflects the brand’s commitment to combining technical mastery with a strict, quiet aesthetic.
